2015 Winners Announced

Piano Competition
The 2015 West Coast Ragtime Society Youth Ragtime Piano Competition was held November 7, at the United Methodist Church in Woodland, CA. Students, ranging in age from 8 to 18, gathered in three divisions to play. This competition serves one of the goals of the WCRS, which is to foster and encourage young pianists to play and enjoy ragtime. Judges were Jack Bradshaw, Tom Brier and Petra Sullivan.

Each year 1st Place winners participate in a Master Class held during our annual Ragtime Festival. Click here for information.

All donations to the fund are allocated to the development of activities and events that encourage young musicians who may become the next generation of Ragtime performers. The Master Class was held Saturday, November 21, 2015
Winners of each division participated in a Master Class held as part of the West Coast Ragtime Society's annual  Ragtime Festival. Each student played before an audience and received individual coaching from master performer, Jeff Barnhart. Click here for a series photos taken during the class.
