Chippewa Valley Ragtime Society Quarterly Meeting

SOUTH VALLEY MUSIC MAKERS are dedicated
to the joy of sharing music of all types. Musicians of all
levels of ability are encouraged to share their favorite
tunes during the open sessions.  Meetings most often
take place at Monterey Street Music Academy.
Begun in the 2004 by Ragtime/Vintage pianists,
Candace Fazzio and Chris and Jack Bradshaw, the
Music Makers engage in open-minded programming.
In addition to Ragtime, programs might include
Austrian folk tunes on the Hand harmonika, jazz
standards sung by a sultry soprano, cornet solos from
the early 20^th Century, piano solos composed by
Chopin, Mendelssohn, Cervantes, and Isbitz, duets,
and even karaoke-accompanied harmonica solos. 

The program chair is Terry Parrish, a highly-regarded pianist, composer, and ragtime scholar who frequently performs on the ragtime circuit.  He is also the pianist in the Elite Syncopators

Open piano, food and plenty of delicious ice cream hosted by Society organizers (and ragtime musicians) Stevens and Jan Price and Nan Bostick (grand niece and biographer of Chas. N Daniels).

We were established in Jan. 2006, with Mark as our founder and president. We have no dues, no newsletter, no website and no other officers YET.

Beginning Sunday, July 29 the Sacramento Ragtime Society will hold its monthly meetings at the Red Lion Hotel,
the site of the November West Coast Ragtime Festival.

The restaurant’s banquet room houses a console-sized piano and has enough room to accommodate more than 85 guests.
