Below are links to web sites that provide free ragtime midi files. When these sites are also a source of music scores and recordings, they are included in the pages on vendors and publishers as appropriate. Some sites duplicate midi files that are also available on the web page of the sequencer. Such sites are not listed.

The Greenfield Bowie Piano Page This web site features midi sequences of compositions by Greenfield Bowie, a pianist and music composer from Austin, Texas, USA.
Cornucopia Concert Band This is a Seattle based band that plays music of circa 1890-1930. The site includes *.WAV files that can be downloaded.
DECOY's Scott Joplin Page This page by David Coy contains nearly 50 Joplin pieces sequenced by David and others.
Perfessor" Bill Edwards This site features "Perfessor" Bill Edward midi sequences of classic ragtime, marches, and his own compositions. Site contains over 100 midi files plus original sheet music covers.  Scope of music includes general and rare piano rags, classic rags, ragtime songs, pre-ragtime marches, blues, stomps, novelty piano, contemporary ragtime etc. Site also includes ragtime. old-time definitions and history, playing tips, section on creating midi sequences, and composer biographies etc.
This site has mainly jazz and stride midi  files with a few ragtime pieces.  Site also has ragtime and jazz piano rolls and CDs for sale.
Gary's Ragtime Midi Site  Includes midi files and also special pages for Scott Joplin's opera Tremonisha Home Page and midi sequences and original advertising blurbs for the heart of the Stark classic ragtime catalog on the John Stark and Son Page.
Irwin's Midi Page This web site is maintained by Irwin Schwartz and has midi files on ragtime, stride, and novelty piano.
Scott Joplin (1868-1917) A teenager's site devoted to Scott Joplin is maintained by Russell Warne. The site has over fifty MIDI files.
Welcome to the Scott Joplin Homepage  This page is maintained by Nathan Cranford. The page dedicated to Scott Joplin. Included is  a nearly complete MIDI library of Scott Joplin's songs. 
Keeper's long-lost MIDI files This site is maintained by Ron O'Dell. It contains ragtime sequences including his ragtime compositions plus selections he has sequenced from Scott Joplin's opera Treemonisha. Some non-ragtime pieces are included.
Mike Knudsen's Home Page Amateur musician and retired computer engineer Mike Knudsen's site has his ragtime midi compositions.
The Stefan T. Lund Ragtime Parlor  This site includes ragtime midi arrangements by Stefan T. Lund.
Colin D. MacDonald's Ragtime - March Waltz Website This site is maintained by Colin D. MacDonald and has over 400 midi files.
Oleg Mezjuev's Swedish Ragtime Home Page This page is maintained by Oleg Mezjuev and contains contemporary Swedish ragtime compositions written by Peter Andersson, Sune "Sumpen" Borg, Ragnar Hellspong, Peter Lundberg, Oleg Mezjuev and Kjell H. Waltman.. Some classical rags are also included here, several of them sequenced by Kalle Johnsson, a young ragtime fan from Stockholm. Also included are the contemporary ragtime compositions written by David Thomas Roberts and William M. Shockley and an International Rag Section. This site contains examples of Terra Verde.
 The Monrovia Sound Studio features the music of Ferd 'Jelly Roll' Morton - Joseph Lamb - James Scott and other notable Ragtime, Blues and Hot Piano performers. The site is maintained by Mike Meddings.  From Mike's personal collection, you will discover some interesting letters, photographs and other historic documents associated with Ragtime. As well as Midi files arranged and sequenced by Warren Trachtman - Irwin Schwartz - 'Perfessor' Bill Edwards and Mike Meddings, the site features articles on J. Lawrence Cook - Eubie Blake and recently discovered facts about Ferd 'Jelly Roll' Morton, documented by eminent scholarly researchers including Laurie Wright, Professor Lawrence Gushee, Michael Montgomery, Roger Richard, James Dapogny, Horace Spear M.D. and others.

James Pitt-Payne's Midi Website Contains over 8,000 self-sequenced midi files, mainly pre-1930. You may find some hidden ragtime treasures, for example, "In A Bamboo Land" by May Aufderheide.
Primeline Midi Library The URL for this site has been changed but was not announced on the Ragtime Newsgroup. This site is maintained as a public service by Primeline Chemical Systems of Moses Lake, Washington. The site contains both classical and ragtime music midi files. As of 10/25/96, there were 313 ragtime sequences. The main ragtime sequencers are John Cowles, Mary Haley, Warren Trachtman, Oleg Mezjuev, and R. J. Stratton. This site also has very informative notes about various pieces that you can pop up.
The Ragtime Centennial Show The site is maintained by Rich Cromie and includes his compositions. Through narrative, anecdotes and piano selections (made available here as MIDI files), The Ragtime Centennial Show traces ragtime through its formative period, focusing primarily on the works of The King of Ragtime, Scott Joplin. Sheet music and a cassette recording are available for sale. A special treat is Rich's composition Sue and Howards Wedding Patrol dedicated to Sue Keller and Howard Vigorita.
A RAGTIME COMPENDIUM - There are no MIDI files available on this site. However it does have a list of over 7,600 titles which are deemed by the compilers to be in the ragtime genre which you must download. The Compendium is a zipped Excel 97 spreadsheet file. The Compendium lists dates, composers, publishers, reference sources and indicates if MIDI files exist on the internet.  An associated list provides details on the 1,600 or so  MIDI files indicating the sequencer and the URL where the files may be obtained. This supplemental list is also Excel 97 which can not be downloaded but must be requested by e-mail.
Ragtime Extravaganza  This site is maintained by Martin Spitznagel and most of the midi files on this site are performed by him and his good friend Bill McNally. Included are original compositions by Martin.
Le ragtime Francais This site is maintained by  Benjamin Intartaglia and includes ragtime midi files of his compositions and other French ragtime composers. Site is in French but just click on the the listing under Composition in the table of contents.
Ragtime Plus This site by George McClellan includes midi files of a number of his compositions ranging from Ragtime to Stride, from Country to Latin. CD's of his music are also available.
Ragtime Press Midi Music Archive This site is maintained by Ragtime Press which was founded by Sue Keller. Take a good look at this site - it has a wealth of information plus some great ragtime piano playing. There are nearly 100 midi files performed by Sue Keller. A calendar of coming events is maintained. Check out the site index where the rags are listed alphabetically by title and composer.
The Ragtime MIDI Libraries of John Roache This is the site of the late John Roache who was a pharmacist and musician in Torrance, CA. The site has classical and contemporary ragtime and 1920-40 swing and stride piano midi files.
Walt E. Smith's Midi Page  This site features ragtime midi piano solos by May Aufderheide, Scott Joplin, Joseph Lamb, Mark Janza, Artie Matthews, Jay Roberts and Percy Wenrich.
The Music of Gary Thompson This site includes original ragtime and waltz compositions by Gary Thompson. When you load the web site, click on Art and Music Gallery to get to the sequences.
Warren Trachtman's Ragtime MIDI Page Warren Trachtman's site features his sequences of Scott Joplin, James Scott, Joseph Lamb, Jelly Roll Morton and Eubie Blake. In addition there are sequences of other composers. Some of the files are available only by E-Mail.
Doc Wilson's Home Page This site by Paul Wilson features midi sequences of Joseph Lamb's rags from Ragtime Treasures and They All Played Ragtime. It also features sequences of Jelly Roll Morton compositions. Site is unique in that it includes an extensive master cross index of compositions (by both composer and title) with recordings and midi sequences by web site. Site now also includes master cross index of compositions by female composer along with biographical and other information on female composers.
